Everything You Need to Know About the New Phuket EV Bus Routes

Replacing many of the old Songthaew bus routes in 2025, the new electric bus fleet in Phuket will provide greater connectivity between piers, markets, shopping centres and residential areas.

Phuket EV Bus Routes & Stops

There are currently 3 EV Bus routes in Phuket:

  • Route 2 (Red Line) Chalong Pier ↔ Supercheap (Samkong) (Operating from 5:45 am to 5:30 pm)
    Key stops: Bangkok Hospital Phuket, Chillva Market, Lotus’s Samkong, Andamanda Waterpark, Phuket Bus Terminal
  • Route 3 (Blue Line) Rassada Pier ↔ Andamanda Phuket Water Park (Operating from 5:45 am to 6:30 pm)
    Key stops: Rassada Pier, Andamanda Phuket Water Park, Suan Nam neighbourhood

Connectivity With Phuket’s Bus Network

The EV Buses operated by Phuket Provincial Administration Organisation (PPAO) complement existing public transport services in Phuket including:

  • The Phuket Smart Bus (Route 1 from the Airport to Rawai – marked light blue on this map, and Route 2 from Phuket Town to Patong Beach – marked in amber)
  • The Dragon Line – Free EV Bus service around Phuket Old Town – marked in bright red

What to Expect on Board

Whilst they may not ooze charm like the Songthaew Buses, the new EV Bus fleet is far more environmentally friendly and provides a comfortable airconditioned ride.

They also have provisions for disabled passengers and provide 21 seats, along with USB charging points and CCTV.

What Does it Cost?

EV Bus routes in Phuket vary from 15–40 THB per trip

It is free for eligible riders, including students in uniform, monks/priests, elderly and persons with disabilities.
