Phuket, Thailand, is known for its stunning natural beauty and scenic viewpoints. Here are some of the best viewpoints in Phuket:

Promthep Cape

This is the southernmost point of Phuket and offers stunning panoramic views of the ocean and surrounding islands. It’s a popular spot for watching the sunset.

The viewpoint is easy to reach from the road, but it’s a little bit of a journey from the major tourist towns – you’re looking at around 45 minutes by taxi from Patong or Phuket Town.

Many Phuket day tours will offer this as the last stop of the day, so check to see if you could include a stop at Promthep Cape in your package then your transfers are already included.

Once you reach Promthep Cape, you can park your vehicle in a large parking lot. From there, it’s a short walk to the viewpoint marked by s small shrine and a lighthouse. There are also several small shops and restaurants nearby to buy souvenirs or have a meal – Promthep Cape Restaurant is well regarded as one of the best dining spots with a view in Phuket!

It is possible to climb all the way down to the rocky peninsula “at the end of Phuket”, though arguably the view is better in the slightly more elevated viewing point where the lighthouse is. be aware the path is quite steep at the start if you are thinking of taking children down. And certainly not to be attempted when the weather is bad.

Big Buddha

Located at Nakkerd Hill, this 45-meter-tall statue offers breathtaking views of Phuket and the Andaman Sea. It is around 6-kilometres east of Chalong Circle, take the road towards Kata, and it is signposted. Once you reach the Big Buddha, there is a large parking lot where you can park your vehicle. From there, it’s a short walk up a steep staircase to the base of the statue

Along the way, you’ll pass a number of small shops and restaurants where you can buy souvenirs or have a meal. The view from the top is stunning, and you’ll be able to see the entire island of Phuket and the surrounding sea.

Do remember this is a religious site, and you need to be dressed appropriately before entering.

Karon Viewpoint

Karon Viewpoint, also known as Kata Viewpoint, is located on the southwest coast of Phuket. It’s around 20 minutes from Patong or 10 minutes from Kata or Karon beaches.

Once you arrive at Karon Viewpoint, you will need to climb up a short set of stairs to reach the viewpoint. From there, you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of three of Phuket’s most beautiful beaches – Kata Noi, Kata Yai, and Karon Beach. There are also a few stalls selling souvenirs and refreshments nearby.

Viewpoint Jungle VIP

A small bar perched above Karon, it is open every evening from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. for sunset seekers who want the most spectacular drink with a view. Attached to the Phuket Jungle Experience Resort, non-hotel guests are welcome of an afternoon to enjoy cocktails and live entertainment

Laem Sing Viewpoint

The viewpoint between Kamala and Surin in Phuket, often called “Kamala Viewpoint,” is situated on a small hilltop along the coastal road between Kamala Beach and Surin Beach. This viewpoint offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Andaman Sea and the two beautiful beaches, Kamala Beach and the hidden Laem Singh Beach, immediately below.

Due to its proximity to the main road, it’s one of the easiest viewpoints to reach in Phuket, and you’re not far away from dining options and shops in the two beach towns to either side of Laem Sing Viewpoint.

The viewpoint is an ideal spot to watch the sunset or simply take in the beauty of Phuket’s coastline throughout the day.

Khao Rang Viewpoint

Located in the heart of Phuket Town, this viewpoint offers panoramic views of the city and the surrounding hills.

From Phuket Town, head towards Chao Fa West Road and turn left onto the road leading up to Khao Rang Hill. The drive takes about 10-15 minutes.

Once you reach Khao Rang Viewpoint, you can park your vehicle in the parking lot. From there, it’s a short walk up a flight of stairs to reach the viewpoint. The view from the top is stunning, and you’ll be able to see the entire city of Phuket, the surrounding mountains, and the sea. There are also a few small shops and restaurants nearby.

Monkey Hill (Toh Sae Hill)

This hill, located in Phuket Town, is home to a large population of macaque monkeys and offers great views of the city. Monkey Hill, also known as Toh Sae Hill, is located in Phuket Town, just a few minutes’ drive from the city center.

When you arrive at Monkey Hill, you will need to ascend a steep flight of stairs to reach the summit. This location is inhabited by a large group of macaque monkeys, so it is essential to keep a safe distance and avoid feeding them. Upon reaching the summit, you will be treated to a breathtaking 360-degree view of Phuket Town, the neighbouring mountains, and the sea.

What is the highest peak in Phuket?
